The setlist for the 1987 concerts underwent some changes as the tour moved along. During the earliest dates, the only new song in the set was "Heart and Soul," which was the first single from the Pool It! album. The Monkees were playing the song live when the tour started on July 1 before the single was released later that month. "I'll Love You Forever," also on Pool It!, had been played in '86 and was also in the set as a medley with "I Wanna Be Free." Starting in August, other Pool It! songs were making their way into the setlist, and by September, there were five Pool It! tracks being played: "Heart and Soul"; "Gettin' In"; "I'll Love You Forever"; "Every Step of the Way" and "Don't Bring Me Down."
To make room for the new songs in the set, The Monkees gradually began to drop other selections. "Good Clean Fun," with Peter on banjo and lead vocals, was removed as was "You Just May Be the One," which also featured Peter on lead vocals. "Mary, Mary" was cut, along with "Do I Have To Do This All Over Again" and "Circle Sky."
The 1987 US Tour page now has two variations of the setlist to reflect these updates.
