The upcoming tour marks the second time Micky, Michael and Peter have performed together since the sudden passing of Davy Jones on February 29, 2012. The trio undertook a small round of concerts late last year that visited a dozen cities. The shows were widely praised by the press and well-received by the fans, and also included tributes to Davy throughout the concert. The 2012 tour also marked the return of Nesmith to the group, who had last toured with The Monkees in 1997 in the United Kingdom. Micky told Rolling Stone today that "the reaction to the last tour was euphoric...It was pretty apparent there was a demand for another one."
