"Long Title - Do I Have To Do This All Over Again"

9/26/2015

Here's the scene from Head featuring Peter's song, "Long Title," along with its special solarized color effects.
And now check out this live footage (courtesy of sunnygirlfriend13 on YouTube) from Rama, Ontario, Canada on April 24, 2015. The same solarized effect was utilized during the song, and it was apparently the only time this effect was used during the run of Monkees concerts in 2015. Really cool! Thanks to Melanie Mitchell for taking notice!

Last night, Micky sat in with The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Micky is in New York City this weekend for two performances at 54 Below, and to promote the release of his new live album, recorded during his summer run at the same venue. Fallon greeted Micky warmly and spoke of the time when he opened for The Monkees at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles in 1997. Micky sang several Monkees songs throughout the evening, accompanied by The Roots, including "I'm a Believer," "Last Train to Clarksville," "Steppin' Stone," "Pleasant Valley Sunday," and "Mary, Mary."

Micky talks new live CD, MGM singles, and Monkees 50th Anniversary

9/23/2015

Exclusive: Life is a rockin' cabaret for Micky Dolenz on new album
"Next year is the 50th anniversary. Peter and I just went out, just the two of us, and played England. We've done a couple of shows on the East Coast and Canada. We're not going to be doing too much more this year. I'm doing some solo shows and we have a couple of Monkees things coming up, but we're kind of gearing up for next year, the 50th anniversary. So I would not be surprised that we'd be out there on the road."
He said the release of the Blu-Ray of the series will be the opening of the 50th anniversary celebration. "That was the kickoff thing that Rhino announced. And then, we're right in the midst of planning stuff as we speak. Nothing to announce yet, but I'm looking forward to it."
Micky also mentioned the possibility of a spring and fall tour in 2016 to celebrate The Monkees' 50th Anniversary in this interview with Jim Tofte.
