A promotional tour for The Monkees television series was launched in Hollywood on September 1, 1966 with a private reception at Screen Gems. The picture below shows Micky, Davy, Peter and Mike inside the Monkeemobile at some point during the festivities.

Following the conclusion of the 1987 tour, The Monkees were sued by tour producer David Fishof, who claimed he was owed large sums of back profits. The suit made headlines, and Monkee Business Fanzine reported the end result in the December 1988 issue. Fishof’s claims were ultimately dismissed.

In an effort to keep the blog posts as organized as possible for archival purposes, I recently spent some time adding a couple of new categories while also rearranging some of the other previously listed categories (all which can be found to the right here on the blog page).
New categories include: Chip Douglas, Harold Bronson Book, Monkee Business Fanzine, Monkeemobile, Stand-Ins, and Recording Studio.
The old '1989 Monkees Events' category has been deleted. All posts found in it were reshuffled to the following new categories: 1989 U.S. Tour and 1989 European Tour. You can continue to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame category for blog posts related to that 1989 event.
The Articles and Interviews category has also been reorganized. Because of new or recently added blog categories like Creem magazine, Tiger Beat Monkee Spectacular, Monkee Business Fanzine, Harold Bronson Book and Monkees Monthly, all posts related to those particular categories can now be found in their specific categories only, leaving the Articles and Interviews archive a little easier to search for other posts. (Does that make sense?!)
A lot of the blog categories receive a considerable amount of traffic from visitors to the Live Almanac, so hopefully these changes will make the site easier and more functional. I'm always open to suggestions. Please feel free to contact me here.
