This article, from the July 1968 issue of Monkee Spectacular, looks at the state of Monkees affairs at the time. The new reality of the TV show in reruns is broached, but Davy promises Monkees TV specials. Peter reflects about Chip Douglas as their producer, too, and the potential for an album featuring individual sides by each Monkee. Note that it's reported that "The Monkees will tour the United States this summer," which never came to fruition. Looking back, I've always thought they should have been on the road in mid-1968 to keep their profile high between the end of the TV show and the eventual debut of Head.
