Appearing on the Zilch! podcast in the latest episode released this afternoon, Rhino's John Hughes, who is acting as executive producer for the brand new Monkees studio album, Good Times!, confirmed that all three members of The Monkees will be full participants on the album:
"[Producer] Adam (Schlesinger)...is working very closely with all three guys...all three are on the album and full participants…playing on tracks, singing (obviously), contributing songs...it's really all The Monkees, and that includes Davy."
Davy will be a part of the new album by way of Neil Diamond's "Love to Love," first recorded in 1967 but never officially released on an original Monkees album. It will appear on Good Times! in a reworked version with Davy's lead vocal.
Please note that this is a MUST LISTEN interview, and it's available for streaming and downloading on the Zilch! website.

I've heard so many great new arrangements of Nesmith's older songs, from "Sweet Young Thing" & "The Kind of Girl I Could Love" from their recent tour, to "Listen to the Band" from a recent Monkees convention, to Circe Link/Christian Nesmith's live arrangement of "Calico Girlfriend"... the MUSIC is already there, just bring the studio performance! If he feels true passion to write more songs, then great, but my point is that if the passion isn't there, instead of forcing it (which wouldn't be fun) then the existing well to pull from isn't exactly shallow.

Didn't Andrew Sandoval previously make statements that they recorded both the 2011 tour with Davy and 2012 tour with Mike? I'd love for one of the surprises John teases to be a combined live album with all 4 Monkees from those tours!

I would like Rhino to put out a Live Monkees Box Set featuring the unreleased Phoenix concert for January 21, 1967, the complete 1968 Salt Lake City concert used for "Head", the 2011 and 2012 shows. I think this Box Set would sell well. 2/10/2016 14:31:28
If you would like to join our group to see the Monkees at the Keswick in Glenside Pa,

Ah, this makes my day! I was so depressed Nesmith wasn't going to be involved. Between that and Micky playing drums on the album, I'm a very happy guy. Still bummed he's not touring though 😏

I'm so psyched that the 3 will be together on the album and hopefully the tour as well . I would love them to play a show closer to Philadelphia. The Keswick theater is a hike for me .

GREAT news!!! Even if mike isn't on the tour,at least he'll have SOME participation in the 50th anniversary events! He probably isn't up to doing ALL those listed dates,as the previous 2012-13-14 tours were mini 15 or less dates & he'd probably want his family members along on the tour as well again....maybe too much drama??

I'm excited, but I also remember that "Justus" was supposed to be good, too.

Justus is a gift and a dirty miracle. I'm not sure why it incurs such wrath.

'Justus' is an underrated masterpiece!!! It MORE than stands the test of time. An updated 'Headquarters' showing what the Monkees are really made of!

Whew! So glad that I'm not the only one that thinks this! 2/13/2016 00:10:57
"Headquarters" is a 4 to 5 star album. There is nothing on "Justus" that really compares to it. "Pool It" is halfway in between the two.
