It's still great to see Micky drumming on the fade-out...even getting into a bit of a duel with Rich Dart.
Micky and Michael bow graciously to the crowd (and to Peter) as the song comes to a conclusion...
The Live Almanac has been doing its best to keep track of attendance reports for the 2014 spring tour. Ticket sales for the show at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, Michigan appeared slow early on, but steadily picked up closer to the day of the performance. As you can see from the pictures below, The Monkees played to a nice crowd in Detroit.
Live Almanac visitor Kathy left a comment on a previous blog post examining attendance for the tour. "I was at the Detroit show and it was indeed pretty full," she wrote. I was surprised to see how full it was considering what I had read before the show. I spoke to the person beside me and he said the line at the box office was huge. Last minute ticket buyers filled the house."
Here's another interview with John from last year. He discusses preparations for his first Monkees tour in 2012, with Wayne Avers instructing him to "go back to the records." John also talks about Andrew Sandoval providing customized mixes from original Monkees multi-tracks in order to best re-create the sounds of the Monkees catalog onstage.
