Neko Chohlis designed the artwork for various Monkees albums and picture sleeves, and traveled with the group while on tour in 1967. During the August 20, 1967 performance in Denver, Colorado at the Denver Coliseum, Neko treated The Monkees to cotton candy. Note that Mike is shown playing a 12-string Fender acoustic guitar after difficulties experienced with his usual Gretsch.
In July 1968, The Monkees recorded "Ditty Diego," a parody of the theme song to their television show, for inclusion in the feature film, Head.
Jeremy Pascall wrote for Britain's New Musical Express. In the article below (from the January 1968 issue of Flip), he chronicles Micky Dolenz while on tour with The Monkees in England in 1967.
Ric Klein was Micky's stand-in on The Monkees television show and can be seen frequently in the background or as an extra on the series. Ric also acted as stage manager for The Monkees when the group was on tour in the '60s, and was the best man when Micky married Samantha Juste in July 1968.
