Wow ! As in the world of journalism it seems we are coming close to confirmation of yet another Monkees Album! Let's hope it includes all the boys and make it a double album.

I think Nez is done. His show at the pantages was symbolic not just as a final live appearance but as a monkee period.

I can't see why Nez couldn't lead his voice and guitar to the tracks. If they record the sessions near his home, I don't think it would be a problem. I thought that touring was his biggest problem. What would be the hassle if there was no tour following an album? Granted, I know most of any act's money comes from live shows now, but "The Monkees" has made their fortune and done their touring. I know Micky, Mike and Peter will probably never do a full on "collaboration," but how much would it hurt if a gang of songwriters and producers get together and tell the Monkees; "here's your album...you add your parts here." They could do that, record, package and market it, and it would probably still be a top 20 album.

I've heard some interesting things about this around the internet. Some are saying to expect something by this fall. Other are saying it's going to be a Christmas album. We'll wait and see I guess ...

What else have you heard "around the Internet" about the album? I know they're just rumors -- but I'm genuinely interested.

A guy who owns a New Jersey record store got an email from Rhino. It said (I'm slightly paraphrasing) to expect something big this fall. "Good Times!"-type big.... About the christmas album rumor, I've read that one a lot, although not that much deep info. Mostly just people praying that it WON'T be real! I'll write more when I hear more!

It'll be hard to top Good Times, however my understanding is that a lot of songwriters wish they could have contributed, but didn't quite have the advance notice on that one. So, it's quite possible that this album will be even better. It'll be hard to top Me & Magdalena and Hipster, but as a whole I have a vision of something that could at least equal Good Times, that even includes Davy again.

Since Davy's Good Times track, "Love to Love" was previously released in a different version on one of the Missing Links album, I'm sure they could find another Davy track from there and add a new backing track like the did on "Love to Love". Also, if Mike is not involved in this one, they could also get a song of his from there as well.

The Monkees recorded the song "Manchester Boy" during the sessions for JUSTUS. Davy wrote and sang lead on it. They could always include this unreleased song on any new album.

Hopefully this is true! I think they should call it "More of The Monkees (Good Times)"! If Nez is involved, and they add another Davy song, it could be called "Three Plus One"!

Sorry to be among the naysayers, but I really don't want another Good Times-type album. The Monkees ARE musicians and should be so. They should be more involved and dominant on what they play. Give Mr. Dolenz a kick in the ass , stick his drumsticks in his hands and make him PLAY! Kudos to Peter for being interested and involved. Mike also needs to get in there, unless he can pull some other major project out of his butt and slag off. The era of being a vocals-only unit are long past (hopefully). But if there is another LP, I'll probably get it for the collection. Hey, gotta keep it complete, right?

OMIGOD!!! That was be incredible!!! Good Times is easily one of the best records I have heard, across the board from any band, in the past 30 years at least. I can't wait for another effort. Honestly Good Times should have gone Platinum. It so deserves it. I don't know what the current tally is but it isn't big enough in my book.

Grew up w Monkees TV/Music starting in '66. Love the Good Times release; imo they don't have to play on a new one, Adam & the boys do Great, Singing is most important! Good judgement tho should've left the last song off of GT's. ! A new release will b very cool!
