Micky helped pay tribute to comedian and entertainment personality Stan Freberg at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday evening. Freberg guested on The Monkees television series during its first season in the episode "Monkee vs. The Machine."
Longtime Monkees (and Freberg) fan Jeff Gehringer provided the following synopsis of the evening:
"Micky spoke to a sold out crowd about how he & Coco (Micky's sister) used to memorize Stan's comedy recordings as a child. He even sang a version of the Contadina tomato paste jingle that Stan had written. Micky looked great and the crowd was glad to see him. Also taking part in the tribute was Weird Al Yankovic, Harry Shearer, and Leonard Maltin."
