Monkees author, archivist, and producer Andrew Sandoval will not be involved with the 2014 Monkees tour that begins on May 22 in New Hampshire. Andrew played a large role in bringing The Monkees back to the concert stage in 2011 after a near decade long hiatus from the road. In producing the tour that year, along with the subsequent outings in 2012 and 2013 with Michael Nesmith in tow after the passing of Davy Jones, Sandoval has overseen a renaissance of the group's live show. Concertgoers have been treated to a full multimedia experience that utilizes numerous pieces of video footage working in tandem with the live performance, and even pre-show entertainment highlighting rare Monkees video and audio.
Andrew, however, is at the helm for the upcoming Super Deluxe Edition of The Monkees for Rhino Handmade, which is expected to see release in November.
Be sure to listen to Andrew's weekly podcast, Come to the Sunshine, every Monday at 4pm PST.
