Based on a few emails to the Live Almanac, here are some notes about the first show from attendees.
The set list is basically the same as it was for the 2012 tour, except "The Kind of Girl I Could Love," "No Time" and "Words" have been added.
The performance of "The Kind of Girl I Could Love" was said to be fantastic. Peter adds some slide guitar in the performance of it.
The video of "Daddy's Song" from Head remains in the show as a tribute to Davy (but the band no longer plays live to accompany Davy's vocal - the recorded audio track is used instead). The "I Wanna Be Free" clip from last year's tour has been removed, and so has the Davy montage before "Daydream Believer." The crowd singalong for "Daydream Believer" continues.
All of the songs from the Head soundtrack were performed but in a different order this time around.
The video presentation was said to have changed a lot in comparison to the 2012 shows.
And, despite Michael telling Rolling Stone last week that there would be an acoustic portion in the show featuring just acoustic guitars and vocals, no such set materialized this evening.
As far as attendance, it is unknown right now if the show was a sellout, but two different attendees reported a strong house.
Thanks again to Jim Dugan for the great pictures and for providing other details about the show.
